The North Bay's Veterinary Neurology Center
Your pet may be referred to one of our board certified neurologists if he or she is experiencing persistent pain, balance problems, seizures or even lameness. Common neurological problems include epilepsy; spinal cord disorders including disk disease, spinal tumors and spinal injuries; and intracranial disorders such as brain tumors, head injuries and skull fractures.
Before our specialists perform a neurological examination, it is important for them to know your pet's health history so they can focus on specific areas that may be the cause of the problem. To assist them in their diagnosis, our neurologists can utilize computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), brain and spinal scans, and even myelograms. Once diagnosed, your family veterinarian is consulted to determine the appropriate form of treatment, which could include spinal or intracranial surgery, epileptic drugs, radiation and/or chemotherapy. Our experienced and compassionate neurologist and neurosurgeons are some of the best in Northern California. They work hard to help relieve your pet's discomfort. Working closely with our emergency staff, they are available to accept neurology referrals anytime, day or night.
