Lisa Alexander, DVM, Diplomate ACVS
Lisa received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983 and moved south to take a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group. Following her internship she stayed on in West Los Angeles to become a staff veterinarian for a year. In 1985 she began her small animal surgery residency at Tufts University and Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA. She was the staff surgeon in a multi-specialist group practice in Berkeley for 12 years before joining ACC in 2000. Lisa has been a consultant to the Board of Examiners in Veterinary Medicine for the State of California. She received her Diplomate from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1997, has given many professional presentations and is the author of several professional articles. Lisa appreciates the commitment at ACC, at all levels, which is to provide the finest care for the patients. It is what brought her to ACC and what keeps her here.
John Dahlinger, DVM, Diplomate ACVS
John is a twenty year veteran in the field of animal care. In 2002 John left the Veterinary Referral Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio to return to Sonoma County and join ACC as a staff surgeon with a special interest in general and orthopedic surgery of all types. He attended UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and later completed his residency in small animal surgery. John has been published in trade publications, has given many professional presentations and served as a witness for the California Veterinary Medical Board on complaint cases. In 1999 he received his Diplomate from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. John's work at Veterinary Referral Clinic opened his eyes to the value of aggressive oncological management of cancer patients and his experience at ACC has shown him the depth of the human-animal bond. In 2004 he was appointed to sit on the board of the California Veterinary Medical Association.
